(RTTNews) – Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CM, CM.TO), also known as CIBC, revealed the death of weakling president and chief government official John Hunkin earlier this week. Hunkin led CIBC from 1999 to 2005.
CIBC noted that Hunkin took over the management of CIBC in 1999. During his tenure, CIBC completed the fundamental acquisition of Canadian brokerage Merrill Lynch, strengthening CIBC Wood Gundy and the bank in wealth management and providing a key pillar to the bank’s success in this housing today.
